Who Gets a Seat at Your Table?

by | Oct 3, 2019 | Lifestyle

I have found, as I gain experience day by day in life, that what happens to and for you is often the direct result of not only your mindset, but the mindset of those around you. It’s much more difficult to accomplish a goal in a negative, toxic environment than it is if you’re surrounded by people who choose positivity and growth. It’s important to be selective about who exactly gets a seat at your table. Just because they’re in your life doesn’t mean they get to sit down. The people at your table should be strong, intelligent, confident, and not afraid to make a mistake. It’s those people that affect your mindset and attitude towards new challenges and opportunity.

I have had the good fortune of knowing some intelligent and inspirational women. I’ve known these women for years, and have had the honor of watching them grow to fill the roles they have today, both at work and at home. They kill it every day as wives, mothers, and as professionals. They wake up each day, and selflessly give it their best. The trait these women share is that they have this drive to succeed. They are always looking for ways into improve in the roles they have. They are unapologetic about being their true selves and choose to be happy in their choices. They make mistakes, sure, but they are unafraid to make them, and use those mistakes to make themselves better. These women remind and inspire me— don’t be afraid to be fierce, to give it one hundred percent, to make mistakes. To have goals, and then go out and accomplish them with a passion. And when the world says, “Oh, honey, you’ll never be able to _____ because ._____,” these women give me the courage, grit, and confidence to say, “Watch me.”

So, take a moment and decide–just who gets a seat at your table?
