If you were living the life of your dreams, what would it look like? Maybe a promotion, or yelling at your kids less and connecting with them more? Maybe you’d have time for a morning routine, or getting more sleep? Perhaps you’d want more money, and the freedom to be able to do what you want to do with the people you love without any drama.
There are people on this planet right this second who are actively living the life of their dreams. They’ve defied what’s probable and gone forward into what truly existed only in their wildest dreams and made it into reality. I’ve done it. So have my clients. Wanna know what we did?
We stopped believing our brains.
Our brains are wired to keep us safe. This shows up as judgement or fear in thoughts like this:
👉🏽 “My kids don’t listen.”
👉🏽 “I can never wake up in time to have a morning routine that I want.”
👉🏽 “My spouse doesn’t value my opinion.”
👉🏽 “No matter how hard I work, I always get taken advantage of and passed up at promotion time.”
The people out there who are change-makers, rule-breakers, and visionaries aren’t special. They’re not more advantaged, though it is easier to believe that they are. It’s that they’ve learned to identify when their brains pipe up with doubts and fears like the ones I listed above, and made the conscious decision NOT to believe those thoughts. They’ve moved forward despite those thoughts, trusting themselves and leaning into what’s possible instead of what’s probable. They believe in their future and in their dreams so much that the fear is drowned out by their faith. They take action towards their goals. They know when their brains start talking, and they know what to do when that happens.
What are thoughts that you’re having that are keeping you from having it all–a job that fulfills you, a family that argues less and connects more, peak health, and happiness and opportunity abound?
Are you thinking you can’t have it all? That you have to compromise or let go of something in order to get something else? If so, I’d start there. It’s not the thought, but the BELIEF in the thought, that’s keeping you from living out your wildest dreams.
More on this next week, when I’ll share why belief is so powerful.
